REFLECTING INDIGENOUS VALUES THROUGH TRADITIONAL STORYTELLING & FOOD SOVEREIGNTY MOVEMENTS

When Tahoma Peak Solutions (TPS) set out to grow their visibility and impact in Indian Country, Royal We Solutions was engaged to build their entire external communications from the ground up. From email newsletters and social media storytelling to new website development, Connor became the team’s all-in-one marketing partner, helping TPS explain their mission clearly, reach the right audiences, highlight Native-led projects, and build online spaces where their network could foster cultural connections and strengthen food systems. By managing the strategy, messaging, and day-to-day content across multiple platforms, Connor helped TPS launch new initiatives (including Native Grown & Gathered and the Native Plants & Foods Institute), strengthen their online presence, and connect their work with a wider, more engaged audience.

Over the course of the first year, Connor built an interconnected communications ecosystem that celebrated Indigenous leadership, food sovereignty, and cultural education. His work encompassed:

  • Social Media: TPS needed a clear, consistent way to share their work to reach Native communities and promote their programs and events. Connor created and managed strategies for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok that highlighted Indigenous stories and upcoming initiatives. Connor also ran paid ads that directly increased website visits and boosted registration for the Native Grown & Gathered Food Expo.

  • Website Development: With the launch of two new brands with distinct missions, TPS needed websites that were easy for community members to navigate and engage with. Connor built Native Grown & Gathered’s website from scratch, which highlighted a robust directory of 50+ Native-owned businesses and outlined community resources for grants and funding. Connor also refined TPS’ site so visitors could easily explore programs and sign up for online courses.

  • Thought Leadership Writing: TPS needed clear stories that explained the impact of their diverse project portfolio. Connor interviewed TPS’ leadership and wrote a series of blog posts that broke down complex projects into simple, but powerful narratives — helping position TPS as a highly trusted voice in Indigenous communications, cultural education, and food sovereignty.

  • Email Newsletters: TPS needed a dependable way to stay in touch with their audience for the long-term. Connor created three newsletters for TPS’ diverse audience segments that delivered relevant content and drove steady engagement through compelling storytelling and clear calls to action.

  • Analytics & Reporting: TPS wanted to understand what marketing strategies were working so they could focus their efforts on growing an engaged audience across Indian Country. Connor tracked key performance metrics across TPS’ campaigns to identify what content drove the most traffic — ultimately using these insights to recommend next steps for continued growth and impact.
